UV bump mapping?

Hello. I have a questioin. I was sondering if I can use the uv mapping system in blender to fit a bump map. I know how to use it to fit colors onto a mesh precisely how I want them, However I have a bump map that I am trying to fit on a plane, but the plane is not square unlike the image. So the bump map won’t fit perfectly on my mesh. I have attached an image so you know what I mean.

My question is: Is there a way I can make teh bump map of the shield fit my mesh perfectly?

Phlopper,

Yes! You can use the same image that you used for uv mapping, as an image texture with Map Input set to UV, and Map To set to Nor. Click on this link for a very simple example done in 2.45. If you have different images for uv and bmp, the concept is the same, you will just have to create an additional uv layer for the object, and use that name of that UV layer in the Map Input UV field.

Best of Luck!
