UV distortion

Hey all

I’ve discovered that when I try to add an image that isn’t your typical square image, eg. 2048x2895, to the UV/image editor, it ends up stretching the UV coordinates. Is there a way to stop the coordinates getting stretched whilst still using a rectangular image?


Well, uv coordinates go from 0 to 1 in both directions, allowing them to match any image dimension.

Either crop your image to square, or adjust your uv map verts to take care of that distortion.

I guess it is easy to just simply adjust/scale the UV coordinates to get rid of the distortion judging it by eye, only it’s not a very precise way of doing things.
