UV error mesasage

Unwrapping a simple image to the UV window with a plain white .jpg background of dimensions either 1024 x 1024 or 512 x 512 with all faces selected, or all verts selected.
Go to <UVs><Scripts><Save UV Face Layout>, change the save name from .blend extension to a .tga extension and I get message: ‘Error No UV Coordinates’

I don’t know if this is th right forum but I am very frustrated and need help please.
What is causing this problem and what should I do to avoid or correct it.
Many thanks and Compliments of the Season to you all
Roger

You should post in the "basics and interface or the texturing and lighting support forums…

your wording is strange, so don’t take this as a “nitpick” it might be the problem…

1)You don’t unwrap an image, you unwrap a mesh…
2) you don’t need a background image for the SaveUV face layout script, it generates an image for you (of the size you set in the script dialog)
3) It should automatically be set to TGA as output, not be saving a .blend…

Perhaps you should check the “buttons” pane for your object to check that uv coords are present. Also check (and screenshot) the contents of the UV editor window…
