UV face-painting a procedural texture?

Is it possible to use “UV face painting” to arbitrarily position a face across a procedurally-generated texture?

(That is, like you can do with an image?)

i’m not sure what you are asking, but it sounds like texture baking which is integrated into 2.35. if you have UV coords set, and a material/texture assigned ( usually best to set to shadeless for this purpose ) just run the texture baking script from either the UV window or the scripts window. this will make your procedural texture into a UV texture. You will have to then reposition your coords slightly to fit the new texture, because it is fractionally off for some reason.
