I’m very new to Blender or any artistic 3d software in general, so far I have only perhaps 5 or so hours behind the keyboard. Anyway I’m trying to apply a texture to my model but when I do the UV unwrapping, some of my faces are at various angles. I can see how to scale, rotate and move them in the UV editor, but I can’t seem to really ensure that the are rotated or moved to exactly the right place. Is there a way to do that? I would assume there must be. Also a dumb question, but what does UV stand for?
You should really be creating a texture for the UVs rather then apply the UVs to an already existing texture.
If you are trying to create UVs from scratch to an already existing texture then you’ve made life very difficult for yourself. There is no magic button to do this for you. There are a gazillion ways to unwrap an object and you have to try a figure out how it was done for your texture.
Where is the model come from
Where did the texture come from
Did you create the model ? If not did it already have UVs
What is the model
what is the texture
Supply some useful info so we know what you are actually talking about
Thanks for the reply. I have a feeling I’m using the wrong terminology. So I made the model myself and I got the texture image from textures.com. Below is a link to a screen shot of my desktop, I bet that will clear things up a bit about what I’m doing.
