UV/Image Editor vs Material Editor Conflict?

I’ve been learning Blender’s Texture Painting feature, and I’ve come across a problem with having the same texture image open in both the UV/Image Editor and the Material Editor. The UV/Image Editor doesn’t save an editted image if the Material Editor is also using a version of that image. The UV/Image Editor will create image.001.jpg and not be able to save it to image.jpg.

Anyone else notice this problem, or know how to get the Material Editor and UV/Image Editor to play together nicely?

sounds like a file locking problem, you know one has it open for update, the other is using it. I have noticed that as well. Altho if you save an update in the UV editor and overwrite the file, you probably manually have to tell the mat tex to reload to tell itthere’s a new version waiting.
