I have a model that I have assigned materials (just colors) to. I would like to unwrap mesh, and export the uv layout with the colors only, not the mesh showing up with it so I can then modify the png file and apply as a texture map later. Any ideas?
Render / Bake.
Bake the object texture to an image and save the image
In UV/Image editor use the UVs/Export UV Layout option. If the faces have different material colours this will show up in the export. If you don’t see this option then enable the UV Export addon
