UV mapping problems

I aplied my UV map to all faces of an object at once. I looked at it in texture mode. The lips I had textured are in the right place. I pressed F12 to render it. The texture I had made is not there. Just a gray model.

Just so you get an Idea of how much experience I have, I have been using blender for 1.5 years.

First off, this question has been answered many times and the answer is alos available in the online docs at www.blender.org.

With that being said, even though you have assigned the UV’s, you still need to assignt he image as a texture. There are two ways to do this:

a) Press the TexFace button in the material options.

or the better way…

b) Assign the image as a texture the way you normally would assing an image texture. Then, instead of the standard ORCO mapping option, change it to UV.
