UV Mapping Question

I created a large landscape with a road that twists and turns and completes a circle. My road is a seperate object from the landscape. Since my map is so large I can’t get a decent road image on the mesh that looks good when rendered. I’m using 2.46
The road is two vertices tall and wraps around to complete a circuit.
If you look at the image you’ll see what I mean and what happens when I create a UV map.

My question is, is there a way to uv map it so each face is layered on top each other, sized to the UV map, so I can lay a detailed image on it and it will be placed on each face. Also be able to resize specific faces because some are small and curved and I would like to resize them to eliminate any stretching or squeezing. This will also allow me to add lines for lanes.
OR
Be able to place an image on a face and have it duplicate on the other faces.

Thanks
Dan

It’s hard to say acording to the picture. Basicly Edit mode > ‘U’ > reset will give you what you asked for. But as I see from the picture it looks like you’re road is made of segments, each made of two faces, In the case maybe you’ll want to devide the segments with seam and the when in edit mode ‘U’ > unwrap -> you’ll get all the road segments seperated and you’ll need to aligne them.

OK thanks, I didn’t know if I could add multiple seams. If I over lap the road segments will my image be placed on all of them?

as long as you assign them all to the same image, yes.
