I wonder why a default unwrap doesn’t respect what is “up” in Blender. Blender knows what is “up” (positive Z), so why can’t it think to itself…“Gee, it may be important from a material / texture stand point to place faces in the same orientation as I see them”. Horizontal faces would’t apply, and I get that angled faces etc would need some additional input. And yes, I know I can rotate the UV’s. I just wonder why no one has considered this. Just my thoughts.
