UV-Orientation Problem

Hello People,

i am really new to blender. before i used 3ds max and i have to say, i love blender!
but now i have a problem giving me a headache: perpendicular UVs.
when i make smart-uv, some of my islands are in the right direction, some are twisted.
i need all the uvs in the right direction.

is there a way to automatically unwrap the model with the right orientation?
or do i have to adjust all islands by hand?
