Uv texture squishing around a bend!

I have built this road from an extruded curve thats then converted to a mesh
http://www.shagwana.dsl.pipex.com/ForumImages/RoadProblem01.jpg

Problem I have is when it comes to uv texturing it. As you can see the texture looks like i would like it in the red circle, but inside the yellow one its all squished up.

What I desire is to have the road marking draw all nice and even around the bend - not smaller like it is in the image.

[!] Anyone got a nice and easy solution to this? [!]

i would try selecting the smaller faces 3 at a time and load ‘from window’, then position the coords manually.

If you hit C in the UV Editor selected faces will keep their aspect ratio.

Tapping C gets me to “active face select”, how does that help me?

If you’re following Modrons advice you hit A in 3D win to deselect all faces in Face mode then Shft-RMB in 3D win to select the 3 faces he mentiond, A in UV Editor to select them all and G to drag them to where you want them on the image.

Did not know
where you guys did you get those infos?
I have read the blender 235 page with the new features but I do not remember anything about that “proportional face keeping”

regards

Are there any other methods to get what i want?
