UV textures

hi everyone.
i’m makeing a character and decided to use UV textures but the’re not showing up in the render. why can’t i get them to work?

May I suggest that you start simple - like unwrapping a cube, to make sure you have all the steps working properly.

What version of blender? Does the UV map export OK? Can you see it in gsls? Make sure that you don’t have a global material assigned.

A little more info would be helpful in helping you.
My best guess: for having absolutely no idea what you’re doing, right or wrong: Have you made sure to set the texture mapping coordinates to “UV” instead of the default “Generated”.

UV texturing sequence involves many steps. First you need to unwrap your object in UV editor and add blank image behind it. Export this UV map. Paint it in graphic program. This image needs to be reloaded on to objects texture panel. And, set to UV, and color.

To see the texture on the object, you need to have textured draw type or Render it [F12].

Are you just UV unwrapping and adding a texture in the UV/image editor so it shows up in the 3d view but it doesn’t render, that is the usual type of question asked. You need to apply the texture to the material, mapped to the objects UV coordinates to show up when rendered.
