UV Unwrap to scale

I want to use Blender to create a template for a model, so the idea was to create the mesh and then unwrap the various parts. Then print them out and get them cut and they should all fit. Problem I’m having is that if I unwrap the parts separately then they all seem to have their own scale.
Is there some setting which I’m missing which says ‘keep size’ for unwrap? Or is there some trick I can use to ensure they are all exported with the same scale as in the model?

Thanks

Why not join all the separate meshes into one object? Then when unwrapping, Blender will do it’s best to keep the relative sizes, which can be further refined in the UV editor under UVs > Average Islands Scale. Then either print it out as one big template, or scale everything up so no one piece is bigger than the UV space. Then move a piece in the center, save an image, move another in the center, etc, etc.

Even if you unwrap as a single mesh or use average island scale option it assumes you have unwrapped with zero distortion to the unwrap.

You could use the export paper model addon https://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?186071
