UV Unwrap!

Ok, so I created a svg image in illustrator, just something really simple then imported it using blender.

I went into edit mode and scaled up the curves, extruded it then cleared all the seams, then used fgon to combine the faces, and marked the new seam as a face.

but when I uv unwrap it shows up in the uv wrap as the original mess! what am I doing wrong :frowning:


With the fgon, you don’t really combine the faces, it just looks as though you have. Blender only really handles 3 or 4 sided polys which show up in the uv editor. Depending on whether you plan to make any other changes to the object and you just want to texture it, ask yourself does it matter what the real mesh looks like.
