UV Unwrapping Help (This shouldn't be too hard)

Let me first just say that I’m really really sorry to yet again be stumped on unwrapping a fairly simple object. I am certain I’m the worst UV unwrapped ever

I have found that a conformal unwrap isn’t too bad, but it will mess things up when I try to do straight lines across the ship. Thank for your help!

Download .blend file here.

Try setting seams along the length of the ship, at the deck edge, and possibly at the hard edge of the vertical on the stern.

Yes, I’ve tried all of those and I just can seem to get it. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have tried to map the UV. see the Image.

Ok, thanks for the help. I appreciate it.
But the way you unwrapped it makes it nearly impossible for my to create an image texture.

My closest shot turned out like this:

But it still won’t quite cut it:

Unwrapped for texturing, watch how the loops were placed, and removed some interior faces, causing bad unwrapping.

Wow, you got it pretty much as good as it gets. Thanks so much! I owe you one.

No problem
