UVmapping. Vertices can not be moved along x/y but can be moved with m

So I was editing my uvmap and I probably pressed some keyboard shortcut accidentally at some point. Now in uv window when I try to move a vertice it moves. But when I try to move a vertice to x or y direction it won’t move at all unless I manually insert a value. So m>x or m>y doesn’t work. But m>x>2 does move the vertice. So just to be clear the issue is that I can’t move the vertices along x or y. I can drag them with my mouse or use m for example.

What did I do? Any ideas?

I’ve tried to close and open blender. I’m pretty sure I’ve just accidentally pressed some button

A. Sorry for being a smartass, but the singular of “vertices” is “vertex”, not “vertice”.
B. I assume you use a custom keyboard layout? What did you change? The default shortcut for move is “G”, not “M”.
C. If you didn’t customize the controls, try resetting Blender to its defaults (File > Load Factory Settings).

Oh sorry, meant to say G. I’m not sure I want to reset blender to defaults. I’m pretty sure I just turned some feature on and need to just find a way to turn it off (and figure out what it is!).

For example turning element snapping ON allows me to move vertices x/y directions (G>x and G>y) but I don’t want snapping because I want to freely move along axis.

Can you show a (uncropped!) screenshot of your UV Editor window?

Hmm it just started working again. I have no idea what I did. I did try rotating part of the mesh in uv window and now it moves along x and y…

Thanks for the help Ikari anyways!
