V1.6: MeasureIt - measurement tools

add-ons

(Leon Cheung) #81

oh I mean the arranging style. Aligning all measurements on each side is commonly used in industry as I can see.

(Antonioya) #82

With the new positioning options that I have added, you can put the measure almost in any place that you want.

(JuhaW) #83

First I thought he ment measurements of the selected faces area, floor area, and its a good idea

(Antonioya) #84

Yes, this will be in the new version v1.5. Look here: https://plus.google.com/u/0/

(Antonioya) #86

Technically is very easy, but I’m not sure this is the best idea.

Antonioya… Your addon could really help me right now. Thank you for your work and I hope that you can provide
a download link soon.

Thanks for your wonderfull work Antonioya, I think your addon is a long waited feature for a lot of people, and way you have implemented it is very smart. The new version seams awesome.
If I may point some suggestions :
-I think it would be handyer to use the created transform orientations to quickly align measures to the wanted orientation, instead of tweaking orientation axis.
-Perhaps I missed the option, but I wonder if it’s possible to disable the x-ray display.

Thanks again for your work.

Hi,

After a month of development, I have added a lot of new functions to cover more types of measurement.

Demo video: http://youtu.be/hiEZxnPHq70

Also, I have created a basic tutorial of how create a Blueprint.

Nice work again!
Remember the last idea I proposed? I tried the distance you’ve mentioned, but didn’t get the expected “aligned” result. Anything wrong here? Thanks!

(Leon Cheung) #93

After several trial-and-error tweaks, it finally get to the expected level. Though I have to click quite a lot things, it did work. Thanks for the “Normal adjustments” suggestion. Now I just hope it could be a bit more smart in future.

(Leon Cheung) #94

Two more suggestions:

  1. When the ghost icon is enabled, I can see that the Display Texts button controls all objects instead of per object. Maybe it is better to have it work on per object?

  2. Possible volume display/calculation?

(Antonioya) #95

You have both. Enable general button and then enable/disable by item.

(ingoenius) #96

It would be possible to add a little function
select a mesh, object or group and make sure that this follows the orientation front cams view in viewport and camera view et front viewport
(to orient silhouette of trees and human)?
TANKS for all

(Leon Cheung) #97

I see. Now I know better about the work flow, thanks.

(Ector3) #98

Thanks Antonioya… Great work.

Just found something strange, please check this GIF

This a a great script. But then Antoniya made it so that is to be expected. I would really love this but Antoniya has incorporated all of this in his Archimesh script which is the primary thing I need measurements for But I am keeping it anyway just in case.
