Hi!
this is a project for a vacation house on Costa Rica.
The project was already approved, but I would like to know what do you think so I can grow as an artist.

Looking good. Nice nature, especially grass. How did you make the yellow one among the green one?
Hi m_squared, thanks!
it’s very easy really. The only thing you have to do, is add two (or more) particles settings
then create a group of vertex with Weight Paint where you want each particle setting to be displayed:
Then you have to select it in the Density vertex group field on Particle Settings. Piece of cake!
Front Angle of tucan House
Thanks for the explanation. Looking good!
Nice looking! So are you using cycles? What kind of effects do you use in post production? What kind of lighting did you use in the interior scene? Did you use portals?
Visualization is generic, non consistent, obvious mistakes while combining elements, nothing special.
Already wrote you - Learn theory first!!! (colors, tonality, computer science, art history… take on photography…).
Note to ‘architect’: “Bad and ugly work! Learn more about culture, architecture, sustainability, environment, habitat, landscape, forms…”
Destroying habitat is not the way of the architect. Such buildings belong to mixed urban-industrial areas, cities.
I removed the first floor, so through the stairs and the big window at the left, plus the window on the front plus the one on the right, it’s enough light to the entire interior.
Only cycles, just some regular color grading. Always setting a warm mood because I prefer that way.
A lot of portals!
thanks for your comment.
I think I’m not getting it. I will try harder. I am doing my best though, and in the tight deadline that I have, is the best I can do. My client is pretty happy with it, even though. I know that with practice, I will do it a lot better. Thanks for being so harsh.
There is no easier or harder.
This is only critique, so to get better one must fail and other should show it, explain it, with respect for the work done.
You are getting it, slowly. Keep open to research, investigation and wondering.
Ask yourself when you look at an image: “What are the anomalies? Which things do not look good? How can i repair it?”
I could easily point out the things that look ‘fake’, but what would it be helpful for. You’ll still stay hungry next time. So learn to catch fish, find problems yourself and solve them in best way known. It is here where theoretical knowledge and photographic experience will free you.
So take time… read articles, art&photo books, mono&biographies of great art masters, watch documentaries, visit art galleries and museums… investigate the art, know the history, understand theory. Love life passionately.
Love. Best teacher of all - fall in love, do it for love, out of nothing.
PS
It hurts me when i see what people do to the beautiful life, nature, flora & fauna of an amazing Rich Coast (Costa Rica).
But should I say to my clients, please, wait until I visit a few museums and galeries, and then I can finish this job? I understand you see me as a complete newbie, but I’m really proud of the path I followed through this year and a half. I work in my day job from 9 to 5, I only have some hours in the night to work as a Freelancer, jumping from the PC to my demanding family. I do what I can with the resources I have. That said… please, mark every point you don’t like on the render. I understand this is nothing special for you, but for me, this is the completest project I’ve ever made. So it would be helpful to see what can someone, who does not have feelings for me or the render, have to say about it.
