As dusk settled over the vast field, I dismounted my horse and allowed him to drink from the nearby pond. The cool water lapped at his sides. I took a deep breath, taking in the fresh scent of the countryside, and thought about all I accomplished on my journey so far. With my steadfast horse by my side, I was ready for whatever lay ahead.
