Just a vase i did took bout 15 minutes but i was fiddling around with the texture (ray mirror + multiple textures) and lighting so about 30 mins + render time.
I got the idea from (Buran’s art - modelling a vase).
If you look closely, you can see that the reflected boards stop. Make the plane bigger and see if that helps.
If this wasn’t a finished project, I’d probably say that that vase is reflecting too much anyway and that you should probably turn up the fres/frac settings a little bit to get a more realistic vase.
I agree there is a part of the floor which is reflected but I think there is something else, see the picture below :
- the red one is the floor : OK
- the green one is ??
So try to put an environement to your vase, a envmap or something to avoid those kind of reflections.
in case you don’t know how, here’s how to add a fake enviroment, which is an image that cirles your scene. you get realistic reflections this way.
first, go to the world context. next, click “add new”. okay, now select Angmap. then, click on the map to button at the top of the world context. in this set of buttons, deselect blend and choose Hori. alright, almost finished. go to the texture buttons (F6) and load a picture that has a lot of detail, such as a kitchen, a mall, or something like that. make sure it has lots of color. ta-da! now when you render, you should see a nice reflection which also includes the wood floor. hope this helped!
