Venice, night time

Heres a pic im working on. I’m gonna update tomorrow, throw me some crits. Yeah, I’m aware of the “curves in the brick texture”

I’ve yet to add the water, or a proper sky… I’m not adding the sculptures to the bridge (because its for a school project, and I need to be printing it friday)

Looking good. the only crit I have right now is the bridge textures are looking flat.

the architectures are very realistic.
It seems to be there!
The water will be very important.

I only have tomorrow night to work on it, so gimme all the crits you can!

Hi! I’m not a pro in blender but I’ll tell you what I thought when I saw the image.

  1. Model and textures of the city are great
  2. Sky. I wouldn’t put fireworks in the 3d scene because it’s really hard to make them look good. I would put them in the scene with photoshop, maybe a little bit further away from where they are now so you don’t have to reflect them in the water.
  3. Water. The material isn’t that bad, but where the water meets the city model it is too flat (compared to the bump map[i assume] you used on it.
4)That dark building makes me think there’s something wrong with the lights. I would change the material of that building, or the light/render setup. or both. maybe this could help:

www DOT blenderguru DOT com/introduction-to-the-compositor/

(I don’t know if it does, can’t watch the video now…) else google for other night render tutorials (on other softwares too, just to see how it’s done)

hope this helps
have a nice day!

ps: sorry about the link but it won’t let me post … dunno why
