Vertex Alignment Problem

Hi. I’m trying to extrude a neck out for a biped that I’m working on. The trouble is that since the face I want to extrude from isn’t flat, it goes off at a weird angle. Since I’m working with the mirror modifier as I’m modeling, this makes for a bit of a problem. In 3DS Max, there’s a view align tool that fixes the problem. Unfortunately, I can’t find anything comparable or an alternative solution. Suggestions?

Just cancel your Extrude with Enter before moving the extruded verts, and then use G to move them.

In Blender Edit mode, Shift-V aligns the view to selected face (options are view top, side, front).
