Vertex move in Ortho. View

How do you move vertex along the x, y, or z axis in Ortho. View?
Please!!

Hit G key to start grab mode

Then Click and drag the Middle mouse button in the direction you want to go. This will constrain the movement to the appriate axis.

Once again if you don’t have a 3 But mouse, use the shift/alt/right click combo

Works perfectly in top, side, and front view, in perscpective view, I got x, and z axis, not y,

Any ideas?

Well I can move the vertice along any axis in perspective using MMB. Maybe you need to change the view slightly to make it easier to line up the move you initiate with the mouse with the axis you want to follow in parallel.
