vertex normal UV map export.. high to low poly

Is it possible with blender?

I mean is there a plugin or some other method for exporting the vertex normals of a high poly mesh to a UV map, for use in a low poly model??

I’m working on my first serious low poly character, and will finish it having done all of the normal mapping by hand (painted in Gimp), but it would be sooooooo coooool!!!
