Many moons ago i started work on a Star Trek game, and im about ready to pick up where i left off.
I was told a long while back, that for a starfeild that moves with the ship, but dosent turn when the ship does would give the best results, and that i could do this by “vertex parenting” a cube with a starfeild texture to my ship…
So i was wondering if anyone could give me a quick description of what i need to do to “make it so”!!! Has anyone else used this method in a spaceship type game?
Ctrl-Alt-P to vertex parent…and that really is it. If you want to parent to a specific vertex then select both objects, go into edit mode, select the vertex you want on the ship and then Ctrl-Alt-P, but for a background it shouldn’t matter.
