I am having an issue merging vertices on 2 objects that have been joined together as 1. I made the body 1st, then made the hand but when I merge the vertices of the hand to the vertices on the body it deforms the mesh? (see incl. pic) Any help would be appreciated. FYI the character still has a mirror modifier and subdivision modifier on it that has not been applied yet.

Hey, Make sure you don’t have any ‘interior’ faces where you joined them.
How could I tell that…you fean faces where the normals are flipped?
it was the interior faces…thank you for the suggestion…worked like a charm
