VERY Affordable Artist needed for people and hot rods

I need someone VERY affordable to make 3D models, for me to 3D print VERY recognizable figures of people from my copyrighted photos to include in plastic model kits.

I also need someone VERY affordable to do 3D CAD drawings of all the parts necessary for me to 3D print a plastic model kit of a famous hot rod that I built back in the early 1960’s, from my high resolution close-up photos of all the parts, with precise measurements.

If one VERY affordable artist can do both, that would be best, but since they’re different types of 3D art, someone good at one of these may not be good at the other.

If this project goes well, and is VERY affordable, it can become ongoing work for other hot rods and other people.

Attached are some of the photos of the famous hot rod that I built, including poses of me back then that I want to print 3D figures of.

If you’re interested, please show me examples of related work, and PM me with what you charge.

Everybody has been asking “How affordable is VERY affordable?”, so I’m adding this: I’m retired without a pension and have been through a VERY tough decade. I’m trying to start all over again, so the more affordable the better. I have no experience about what work like this might cost. When I’ve looked for someone for other types of work on Upwork, I’ve always limited applicants to under $10/hr., and hopefully under $5/hr… freelancers who live in countries that don’t require them to earn what is necessary per hour in the USA, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, etc. So far, the most successful has come from freelancers who have charges $2 and $3 per hour, and have done excellent work. I’ve always given them a bonus at the end, and sometimes even during the process. I hope this helps

That said, what really matters is the total cost for the work… not just the hourly rate.

Thank you,

Steve

what’s your definition of “very affordable”? In this industry that’s too loosely defined, anything from $5/h to $500/h could be considered very affordable depending on the budget and who’s asking - a ballpark of what your “affordable” is would be helpful.

Hi CubeGod. I just updated my post to answer this for everyone who might be interested.

What a joke

It can not be serious…

Let me remind you that the hourly wage at McDonald’s is $7.50 an hour… I’m sorry you had to go through the tough times that you did, but I have to say; Good luck…

2 -3 $ per hour and do excellent job … Can you send me few contacts when u find them, so I can just outsource all of my work to them???

Exclude EU, for here paying pension fund & health insurance is obligatory even if nothing is earned during the month, so i doubt you’ll find a pro working for under 10€/h… except maybe students. Not to mention fines for offering service without invoice (not paying taxes).
ie: Experts (engieneers) charge ~40€/h, while pro-amaterus (starters) ~15€/h. In the end it comes to around similar amount of cash but in a different time frame.
Ah, americano… get real. You will roughly need to invest few K$ just to get proper plans & files ready (excluding laser scanning & proper surface control) for production in some decent time. Otherwise - you have time, learn and do it yourself.

$2-3 i would be ashamed to offer for such an intrinsic work.

$2-3 an hour? that is about 7 times less than the minumum wage where i am from. $2 wont even buy you bread and milk…

It’s actually kind of shamefull to offer skilled workers this low amount… if you don’t have enough of a budget to pay people properly, then just learn how to do it yourself i would say.

I really don’t think any work you offer is worth doing, considering you offer less pay than you could get begging on the street for an hour…

lol to cover my basic survival costs at 3 usd per hour, i’d need to work 83 hours per week. a week only has 119 hours if you sleep 7h per night.

Just my 2 cents: you may try posting a request for volunteer work, because in that way you have the chance to find a passionate person who will do the job happily, just for the pleasure of re-creating HotRods from hi res pictures. In the end you may still give him/her a bonus, and I think the situation may be good for both of you. Asking for paid work (with an excellent quality in mind) for that amount of money, simply doesn’t sound right to me. I may be wrong though, good luck

I second that completely. Robi put it very nicely and constructively.

Hi SreckoMicic. I suggest you post who and what you’re looking for.

I agree burnin, and if you read my post, you’d see that I very specifically stated this. I have had very good luck finding excellent, expert freelancers in countries where $2 - $5 is normal. It makes me feel very good being able to give them much needed work and payment to help them in their struggles. I usually always give them bonuses, too.

As for $7.50 an hour, that’s in the USA, and much less than it should be. It should be $10 here. In the other countries, where $2 - $5 per hour for experienced freelancers is normal, and welcomed; McDonald’s doesn’t pay anywhere near that. I know for a fact that in many countries McDonald’s pays as little as $1 per hour, and workers are glad to get that.

Hi robi. Thank you for your excellent suggestion. I really like, admire people like you who offer constructive, helpful suggestions, instead of people who seem to have nothing better to do than to be negative, especially after not even reading what I have written about something.

While I don’t like asking for “volunteer” work, several of the very professional artists that are “Friends” from around the world on my Facebook site, have done designs for T-shirts and other things, just to be a part of what I’m doing, what I hope to do, and what I have accomplished in the past. Yes… most definitely… if a hot rodding enthusiast “volunteer’s” work is good, I would most definitely give them a bonus, including sending them free autographed photos that I think they would really like.

Hi Fweeb. Good for you! It’s really nice when admins and moderators can take the time to keep inappropriate posts off of a forum! I know only too well how much time it takes you to do this, so thank you very much!

Can you add a “Report this post” button to your Forum posts? Ooops! I now see that there is a very small little triangle at the bottom left of each post for reporting them.

All The Best!
