Very simple mapping problem (beginner)

Hi folks,

I cant figure out, how to scale the texture over the whole bullet so it looks nice.
I tried a lot, watched hours of tutorials (now I know more about UV unwraping at least  )

This is how it should look like:

This is my setup:

Whats wrong? Whatever I tried, I cant get the textured not being repeated…

Best thanks in advance!

By default the texture coordinates are UVs which you haven’t laid out for your model.
You can use Generated coordinates instead using a Texture Coordinate node. The mapping node just flips the coordinates so the dark areas are at the rear of the bullet

You will get some distortion of the texture so ideally you would UV unwrap your object to control the best application of the texture

Thank you so so so much for this super fast answer!
If you want I can mention you in my project

Yeah I saw that problem with the distortion. I tried to UV unwrap but didnt get it, how to place/unwrap it so those lines in the texture are pointing to the hole. Any advice?
