I was wondering if there is a way to “preview” a video sequence using the video sequence editor. Like when you press alt-a, it previews the animation. The problem is that it does not switch scenes. Thanks in advance.
yes, if it has already been rendered
the default .blend file has a screen well suited for sequence editior work, with a preview
but if you want to create one, make a new sequence editor window, and press the preview button on it’s header.
I’m using 2.28, I don’t see a “preview” button besides the one in the display menu (only changes image resolution, I think.) Also, I’m trying to find a way to preview unrendered animations, not rendered animations. The whole purpose of this is so that I can make sure my animation changes from scene to scene smoothly before spending hours rendering it.
If you have a movie loaded into your sequence editor, you may play it clicking on the button that looks like a persons face (in the sequence window), and pressing alt A.
If you use the preset SCR (screen002) from the top buttons. This will give you a set-up with the window you want in the upper left hand window. If you press alt-a while the cursor is over this window you should get the ‘preview’ you want. Be sure that you haven’t change that window’s selections. I should be a sequence window and be sure to have the botton with the face on it depressed, otherwise you’ll just see your sequence bar objects. Of course you can press this button to preview in any window that you have the sequence window selected in as well.
Thanks, I’ll check it out asap (at school right now).
