I have over 100 images I have imported into the Video Sequence Editor which are currently 1 frame each after the import. I would like to know if there is an efficient method of dragging all their timing along so that the sequence makes a 2 minute slideshow.
I don’t want to add an effect to “stretch time” over the whole lot as a metastrip because I would next want to be able to adjust positioning / timings etc on a per slide basis.
…in other words, I want to be able to select all, and have each 1 second frame take about 30 frames. There appears to be no “scale” in the Video Sequence Editor.
Edit: I’ve found out that I can select all the right-hand edges of the image strips and then use “G” (as opposed to “E”) which simultaneously extends them all. The trouble with this is that they all overlap in a bad way. Normally if I try to drag a strip so it overlaps another, it gets snapped into place behind it. How do I auto-snap them all now?
So the solution is to have a 3D window open with toolshelf showing, so that when you split an image sequence strip into separate images (shortcut: [Y] key), you see options about making those image take X number of frames. Alternatively, [F6] reveals the options right in the VSE view without the need for another 3D window & toolshelf.
Knowing that a 3D window with Toolshelf has the option would have saved a lot of time yesterday. I also didn’t know about the F6 pop-up window (very hand and appears in many contexts; e.g. adding a new UV sphere to a scene). After 2.5 => 2.6 was largely about rewriting from bottom up and making the UI more accessible, it’s odd that they have obvious UI-fail in areas like this option missing from [default VSE] view.
