As a school project, I am doing a survey. I decided to make it videogame-related because it’s something I’m interested in. However, there’s no way I can just go around town asking people to fill out a gaming survey - there’s no way of me telling if they actually play games, and the survey is designed to be done by gamers. This is where the community comes in.
I’d like you to download this file: http://www.savefile.com/files/775122 It is a .txt file, so there is no virus threat or anything of that nature. After you have the file, read the instructions and e-mail the edited file (as an attachment if you want, but you could copy and paste into your e-mail) to toomai_glittershine@yahoo.ca with the subject line "Survey: " followed by your username. I am only getting your username to contact you if there’s a problem: once the data is collected, the username data will be destroyed.
I would like to reveal exactly what I’m trying to prove with this survey, but let’s face it - such knowledge will make it far easier for people to fraud. So for now, I have to keep you in the dark. But rest assured that soon, most likely around June 16th, I will come back here and post the survey results.
I will tell you this in advance:
- The only personal information collected will be your gender and your age group.
- Leaving any question blank will drastically increase the chances of your data being nullified.
- I have done all that is possible to eliminate bias from the questions.
- If you can’t decide between two answers for a multiple choice question, choose the one that is the most correct.
I will probably be unable to answer any questions here. Ask questions via e-mail to toomai_glittershine@yahoo.ca with the subject line “Survey question” . If this topic falls down and I have few participants, I will likely bump it.
The more participants I can get, the better the results will be. I thank you in advance and hope that you can participate.
Oh, and to the mods: Please do not close/lock/delete/whatever this topic! The last place I posted this (GameSpot) determined it was spam/advertising, killing off an extremely good source of data. I don’t believe this is advertising as I’m not ad’ing any services, I’m not linking to my website, and there is no money involved. This is for a huge project for a statistics class and I’m running out of places to survey, so please don’t force me to run around town trying to scrounge up gamers to survey.
