View-port pixelation issue

hi, does anyonw have any suggestion regarding this pixelation issue?? it just randomly happens, few things i have notice

  • only happens when running on battery
  • Happens randomly
  • mostly when switching to Blender from other program (chrome)
  • viewport return to normal if i hover my mouse over it or just scroll the subsequent view port
  • started happening from last week or so

Blender - 2.82a
Laptop - Razor blade 15, i7-9750H 6-Core

Thanks!

Are you rendering on GPU?

If so, my guess would be thermal load. That’s a fair bit of hardware in a small form factor. Your GPU is probably getting too hot and it is corrupting your display.

If it’s any consolation, when I try to render on battery with my laptop, it overloads the system and hard crashes. I have a late 2016 model alienware 18 with dual 980m gpus. Two gpus is too many for battery power.

Yes i am using gpu but It doesn’t necessarily happens during render time. Even when i am doing normal modelling, whenever i just switch to blender this problem will occur.

Could still be thermals. are you using it on your lap, or on some other soft surface? any blocked airflow? have you dusted it out recently?

Dont think there is any blocked airflow but i havent dusted it out recently, will give it a shot.
