viewing tutorials-sound only

hey, got blender a couple hours ago. went for “interface tutorial” and got the sound but no picture, just a ‘skin’ I guess. Windows xp with player 10. anyone familiar with this?

When that happens to me, it is usually a missing video codec. I’d go and download the DIVX codec from www.divx.com. If that doesn’t solve your problem, I’ve used a program called Video Inspector which will tell you the codec required to view the video.

My setup for media files is:
K-LITE mega codec pack. It works with media player classic which is a very nice media player and tons of codecs, here is the URL
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Mega_Codec_Pack.htm
I would really recommend it instead of windows media player.

I suggest VLC as universal player that doesn’t require codecs.

Get VLC
