Viewport is different from Render in hair particle system

I set my interpolated display and render to the same number, doesn’t have any modifier properties, but the display-render is different from what I saw. Why?

display:

render:

Yepp this looks weird… any simulation ? Or… are you on a frame outside of the sim ? ( Even if also this does not makes sense to be different in view/shader but: simply check  )

Checked. I only have a vertex group for the particle setting’s density. No simulation, no shader, same direction. I remake this object and the particle system again but no use.

I’m out of ideas. You may have to post your file ?

Can’t upload the files… do you have any idea how to upload it with links?

A disc with particles… shouldn’t be that big… Maybe clear the cache if you have backed something ? (Also the rendered object seems to be not that detailed…)

I found something new… I didn’t show all the models I had in those files because it was unnecessary for me.

I copied the file and deleted all the other models to make sure I could upload the file. But BA kept giving me error codes instead of large file warnings. So I suspected something was wrong. I opened the copied file again and found that the particle system was the same as the render view. I was confused so I checked my original file again. But the particle system was the same as the display view. I redid my steps again but got the same result.

Now I’m sure something else is affecting the particle system…
Thanks for the help, I never thought about other models affecting particle systems.

ps: I’ll write what’s affecting the particle system if I found the solution

Sometimes things are going strange ways

haha, yeah :joy:

I found that this is another particle setting emission number affecting it… why is it linked???

Well… who made this file… ?? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
