I’ve been told before how to make the vignette effect using nodes, but I can’t remember how to do it. Could someone please tell me? I’d also appreciate it if you posted a pic of the node setup… It’d make it much easier.
Thanks
what’s going with you people? is it such hard to ask google than write it here and wait?

“you people” happens to be one person. me. It aint nice do annoy people. and do everyone a favor and dont assume things. You dont come on here enough to earn my respect, but i’ll give it to you anyways. just please do the same for others.
Thanks for the link. I found the same one on my phone the other day, but my phone prevented me from zooming in and seeing the node setup. And i couldnt find it again just now. So i got tired of searching. This is a forum (especially this section) for people to help each other. do so and we’ll like you lol just kidding
“people” because you are not a first in these days who is asking for things simply searched.
No problem to help, but this sounds like somebody is lazy
Haha yeah, but i am really busy too… working on like 10 projects at a time. comercial film, short film, wallpaper series, hosting contest… all that jazz… but thanks hey.
Agree on both sides. If you’ve seen the same question over and over and it seems simple, then a question here is annoying. But I’ve had times that I am snowed under at work and ddon’t have time to look up a sspecific keystroke or ffunction buried in a tutorial somewhere I dont recall. This is a good example as making a simple matte shape in nodes is really frustrating.
There should be a node called “Simple shape”!
And I hate my mac keyboard putting in extra keystrokess…
A plain vignette filter would be great to have in the node system.
Ok it works fine with the steps we do now, but having it as a separate filter with its own specific settings would be great.
It would also be great if we could set up a nice node system and save that as a preset.
That way it would be fast and easy to try different presets you made.
(gonna put this in a separate thread as a suggestion)
You can save a node group in a ‘node’ blend file and append it into any new blend.

Which is what I do currently, but it isnt as portable as I would like, much better to have built in effects, as it is a very basic funtion for colour work.
I find myself a many different workstations using the latest build and I just dont have access to previous .blends all the time.
I agree with 3editPoint. in blender there is a more boring things like this. But I understood its a philosophy of blender to be like a kit (or laboratory). They dont want be the most effective program. They want to give you a basic elements to build your project.
Always if somebody argue with sentences like “you can use this and this peaces instead one complex tool” I want to say "why do we use a cube in primitives if we can build it from extruded plane. I’m understanding its hard to decide what to bring inside the core, so maybe add-ons brings some solution, hm.
And about appendig node group - I tried to collect some archive of groups, but after a few weeks I forget what socket connect.
Good point about sockets, would be useful to label your own. All I want is a basic shape generator, square or circle, its almost there with textures. Really is it that big a deal not to include it? I’m not asking for a “Make Great Render” button
Ooops, im so sorry, posted in the wrong thread…
There are many reasons why someone would post a question here that you think one could find with a search (you assume to much if you are sure one knows where or is able to find a answer somewhere else). There is no reason to get upset about it. Searching before asking I do not know but I do not think it is in the rules. Whats wrong with you?
You do realize that this thread is 1 year old?
