Despite what people say about the movie arrival I thought it was kinda boring. Maybe I expected too much. Even though the execution of the movie was pretty poor imo I really liked the simplistic design of the space craft. So I thought why not send these suckers back in time to meet the vikings and teach them how to sail or wage war against them or whatever. Most of the materials and textures are procedural with the exception of the distribution of the light emitting from spaceship which is controlled by a generic concrete texture. The waves splashing against the stumps are hand painted alpha masked plains. and yea that’s it. I might edit the ocean later to add more variation on the surface maybe add some waves and bigger stumps. Feel free to insult or praise my work, I’m here looking to improve my art.
