visible seams on smoothed subsurfs.

Hello. I’m fairly new to Blender and have recently been following some tutorials to properly learn the program. In addition to the tutorials, I’ve also been doing some tinkering on my own, and after making some more complex objects (i.e. applying precise creases to some subsurfed objects.) I’ve noticed that upon setting the objects surfaces to Smooth I sometimes get weird seams on the object where the Primitive’s edge would be. At first I was able to get rid of them by deleting some edges and re-creating them, but it doesn’t always work. I’ve checked to see if the problem was being caused by a few verticies getting doubled up, and that’s not the case. They also appear in rendered frames, and I haven’t even tried applying textures to an object, so it’s not a texture. I really have no Idea what’s causing this, so if anyone could shed some light on this for me, I would be very grateful.

Some normals are pointed inwards. Just select all vertices and press Ctrl+N (Recal Normals)

awesome! that fixed it. thanks a lot, I had no idea it was such a simple solution.
