I made this 3d grass in blender. I am a newbie, so its not the best, but can you check it out. thanks

Nice start, I’ll try to give some crits.

  • I’d suggest to go outside and lay down into the grass. Do you notice how grass is not 1 pixel wide? :slight_smile:
  • Variations in height would be nice
  • Polygons are visible in the sky (interpolation of textures across the polygons is linear)
  • The ground could use a displacement map
  • Clouds texture isn’t mapped correctly, clouds don’t move like that
  • Personally, I would model the larger stones
  • You could apply a blend map along the strand channel for fluffy looking grass
  • Another way to make grass look fluffy is by using spotlights with shadow maps
  • More grass and more variation in it could make the scene look more lifelike as well
  • Your landscape is flat. Making it curved in some way would make it look more interesting.

thanks, but like I said, I am new to blender, so half that stuff I have no idea how to do :smiley:

um, i don’t see any. the sky was a texture, so I can use another one.

I can TRY, but i would need some textures.
