Volume scatter density

How is volume scatter density calculated, is it by measure unit or by object dimensions?

In other words, if I scale up an object with volume scatter, will it become less dense to the camera view like a stretched hair net or will it maintain the density?

Have you just tried doing this to see what happens?

Of course that’s one way to solve the problem, but since it all boils down to object positions, lighting, background textures and tons of other stuff how volumes behave, it would be nice to set the basics straight :slight_smile:
