Volume Shader between 2 meshes

Hi,

I need help … is there a way to create volume shader (under the sea) in between 2 meshes ?
I am creating a tunnel under the sea … which has a shader like below in the outer cylinder which emulates underwater. While inside the tunnel I do not want this “volume shader” effect.

So kind of only the space between the larger tunnel (represent underwater area) and the inner smaller (the tunnel where human walks) - highlighted in orange below.

Shader for under water assigned to the larger tunnel represent underwater.

Maybe using a boolean node to cut out the tunnel object from the other ?

Thanks … guess this is the only way out …
