Volumetric light through transparent texture

Hi everyone,
I wonder if there`s a way to make volumetric light ( spotlight halo ) pass through a transparent areas of texture. I tried many different combinations of settings of lamp and material with that texture but all i got was circle of light visible through cracks in texture without any rays getting through. If anyone tried this and succeeded, please share your experiences.

ahh
had the same problem a while ago.
try turning up the samples on the spot

still nothing I checked almost all settings for lamp and material but still hole in object generates rays and texture dont ( on pic you can see lamp light through hole in texture but not rays ) btw. Im using Blender 2.49b

ohh sorry, i meant step size :stuck_out_tongue:

if that fails, i think you’ll have to do it via geometery.
