Hey,
Once again I am here on blenderartists to ask for your infinite wisdom. I am in the final stages of making an underwater scene, where my last action would be pressing F12 and waiting for half a day to get an image. I have started the render, but I encountered a problem in the meantime. My volumetric shader which, according to the 3D viewport, should look like dark, murky water shows up clear and almost nonexistent. (It shows up invisible in the material preview as well)
I have tried to find a solution, but I could not. I haven’t used volumetrics much, so it’s quite a new area for me, and I don’t really know what I could be missing.
I am using Blender 2.82.7, and here are the differences (3D viewport and then the render):
On the second image, I shouldn’t be seeing the water’s surface in the rendered spot, and the robot’s tail shouldn’t be that visible.
