I have tried to fake a volumetric smoke particle effect.
The smooth fade in and fade out were done by adding Alpha keys.
There has been applied a simple Clouds procedural texture and the smoke is Shaded Halo. The fire is not perfect but it also has the same Clouds texture applied. The Clouds textures OfsZ is slightly going up, it’s not very noticable.
hey, that’s pretty good. I like it. Like you said, the flame doesn’t look as good as it could, but i really like the smoke. how did you animate it if its not particles?
P.S.- If you still need a music composer for your project, I’m your guy. If you need me to send some samples, it’ll be just a day or two.
It isn’t volumetric, though. I saw one done with spheres as particles, faded off with normal mapped alpha. It was pretty sweet, and it was shaded, too.
I’ll try the spheres tecnique too.
Here was a second test, it was more like a failure cause Blender crashed and I had to set everything up in a bit shorter time, The smoke needs to be more dense.
