VSE: alpha logo ?

Hi All,
I want to paste a logo onto an animation, but I noticed I can only apply an alpha over/under on individual clips/effects/crosses.
I tried rendering without and then applying the logo on top of the sequenced file, but that gives artifacts in the beginning of the mpg.

Is it not possible to have a transparent logo stay on top over the entire sequence, icluding effects and transitions ?

Alpha layering by default would be cool then…

sure. Make you movie out all your normal strips and crosses and fades etc. then make ALL of that a meta strip. Then add your logo image (it will default to 50 frames) and stretch it out to cover the whole movie/meta. Then select the meta, the logo, and Add->Effect->AlphaOver.
