Hello Helpful Blender Geniuses!
I’m having a problem with some particle instanced scales (hair) causing random clusters of the scales to rotate as if they were connected to other parts of the parent mesh. Their location stays correct, its just their rotation which is affected. Its a bit tricky to explain, so I’ve attached a rendered video showing the problem. The mesh is only using 2 modifiers, a skeleton and the hair particle system. The hair has not been combed, although the same problem is persistent after grooming as well. The hair isn’t dynamic and has no physics applied to it.
I used to be able to fix this problem by removing subdivs that were being used underneath the particle hair in the modifier stack – and then resetting the hair system – which was done here. But with one of the more recent blender builds I’ve started to see this happen even right after the hair system is initiated with a new total hair count…
Any help/explanation of what’s going on here would be highly appreciated! I thought I fixed this problem like 5 times now, but no luck as of yet.
