wow…
it’s nice
GOOD JOB!!!
really great shading and atmosphere. maybe the skin shader is too ‘dry’, but maybe other skin shader wouldn’t give such feelings
nice job!
Wow! Great image! I like the feeling. I reakon the ‘crators’ in his checks are to smooth and big though.

Nose and mouth are just great. Eyes are less convincing, but still good. Quality drops moving away from these central features. The ear looks very thin.
nice image! even though there’s not much in the scene the atmosphere of the place really works. the expression in the face is excellent. i think the eyes are what makes it. they’re sort of staring unfocusedly at no particular point in space, as if he’s sad / given up to the point of being detached. the suit materials are really right on. i agree about the ear being too thin, and i’d say the edge between collar and neck could use a touch up. i really like it. well done.
Great image.
Do you know the roleplaygame Shadowrun?
That’s the perfect Mr. Johnson.
I really,really like it!
The pale, dry skin works for me and I think it gives this work a special look. The materials of the suit and especially the tie look great - subtle and convincing. I agree with thorwil about the ear and I think the chemise looks a bit thin but to me these are minor issues.
Excellent!

if i met that guy in my basement, or even in your basement, i would RUN like the wind, cause he’s got death written alllllll over him. my death. And I love it how he’s not even really lookin at you, like you’re nothin and you’re already gone.
Love the hard edges on his face. Makes him look more degenerated. Excellent shade on the material for the skin too.

I love everything about it, but somehow it doesn’t look as finished as it could. The face is perfect tho, there’s nothing I would change. The mouth/lips are simply awesome.
Fantastic. Great basement environment, too. What textures did you use?
Scary…just scary… Exelent XD
He looks like absent… and cold. Thumbs up!
This is the worst attempt at cute-N-cuddly I’ve ever seen - reminds me of the movie “the man who fell to earth”- not physically, but the sense of alien-ness - and loneliness on his face. I love the sculpt job- the facial features look sharp and have that “touchable” believability.
Materials and lighting are great too- If I miss anything, it’s perhaps a little bit of folds in the suit. The ears don’t bother me at all- his face is too alien to make me expect human normal ears.
Excellent work, broken.
Five stars from me.

Lighting and contrast is too harsh on the face, and insufficient on the suit.
Properly re-lit, the concept is good.
sundialsvc4: That’s because the suit is black. Matte black doesn’t have a tendency to reflect a whole crapload of light.
Hi folks, thanks for the comments. I did some very minor tweaks in photoshop this morning when I woke up, but maybe they’re not even noticeable. I’m very happy to see that many of you got the feeling that I want to convey!
BlackBoe: As for textures, the concrete ceiling and floor is derived from photos I took from the Jewish Museum in Berlin (I recommend it!). It was used in Elephants Dream and is on the DVD. The fabric was taken from reference I found on the net, and the rest was hand painted.
thats the first blender made face ive seen which rivals the best cg portraits shown at CGTalk, and thats including the ones in blenderartist’s gallery
theres a book being advertised on CGTalk called something like the “the most beutiful cg characters ever made” and this looks like the sort of style ive seen in there (although there are many styles in that book)
