Wake Effect Help

Hello, I’m currently working on a boat simulator/arcade game. And, I need some help with the boat’s water wake effect. I’ve tried many times to get this effect, but it have never worked. It have either disappeared when The camera is facing a certain direction and it sometimes accelerates the ship to un-realistic speeds.

This should probably be in game engine support/ discussion :slight_smile: but my first thought with the strange acceleration is that the wake is an object, if you don’t want it to affect other objects set it to no collision. I don’t have time to get into any more detail, but a .blend could be helpful for more information from others. Good luck

OK, I tried it, and wouldn’t become visible.

I got the wake, but it still disappears, is there a fix for that?

So the issues seem to stem from the transparency effects on the water and the foam. If you set it to alpha clip, it pulls up, but it makes the edges of the foam harder. You could also set the water to no transparency and that fixes the issue.

And make sure the foam is set to ghost in the physics tab so that it does not move the boat.
