WalkCycle Stop: Blending actions

Hi all, I have a walk cycle setup. Now my problem is to stop the walk cycle. Each time I want the character to stop, I have to manually insert the keys for stop. Is there a simpler way (I assume there is) in which I can define my actions so that the character walks as long as I want it to and then comes to a stop pose?
