Some time ago I had an idea to create a group of not-very-blender-advanced people in order to just simply have fun, model, and LEARN the Blender.
I’m a noob and I still need to learn a lot.
The NCG would provide wallpapers, graphics for websites, Christmas Cards and etc… If you are interested in the project, mail me:

hey that sounds cool but are you meaning by wallpapers, and graphics that we would be modeling them? I think a group to learn blender together would be cool by doing certain tuts beginning with the most basic one of learning the interface and simple stuff…what do you think? 
Yes, I DID mean a modelling group. We would create simple, not advanced pictures and animations. And yes we would learn too. Despite we are noobs, we already all know something about Blender. I know how to use particles, some knows how to rig objects etc, and we would all merge our knowledge.

would we have deadlines? because i just downloaded blender yesterday and still somewhat confused with things…i don’t know much 3d so i don’t think i would be any help to your group…sorry
If we can get 5 or more people, im in. Im not a complete n00b but in the general scheme of life, blender and the entire universe im still a n00b. I know how to use more feature of blender, except animation. So i think i would be able to help you guys quite a bit.
I think its not bad, but there have to be several ‘classes’, because of growing in skills, you understand? The blendernoobs wich starts know, will be more advanced within several months than the blendernoobs wich start on that moment. An what are you thinking about if you say, ghraphics for websites? Do you think that there will be people who wants that somebody else makes there website graphics? I think that those who knows this groups, also use blender, and I think that they want to make their graphics by themselves.
I dondt think there have to be deadlines, because we also have other things, (school for example 
).
To brent:
No we dont need to make our own tuts and things like that, cause there are so many tuts for newbies. I think the NCG hase to aim on multi-disciplinair projects(I mean, not only modelling, but also texturing, lighting, animating and things like that.)

I am not a total noob, I know something about modelling, animation, also photoshop and website creating, but I’m not really advanced in any of them.
So now all we have to do is to make a website for our group.
Yeah Walibie, but we would make graphics for people who want to make their own webpages, you know, fansites or something like that - web design overall.

well i do know some basic modelling commands…but that’s in wings3d…luckily wings 3d can be exported as an obj file and imported into blender… also i know html so i might be a help if a site was made…but i don’t know any other site development coding skills…only html…sorry but it’s a start… also i will email you that i want to join but right now i’m in college with a 19hr. schedule so it’s pretty full…i could do little things…ok?

Now, I’ll spend some time modelling some things, and composing them into good graphics for the website. Oh, I’ve got a better idea. Everyone who declared to be in NCG, model something, that you think it may be your trademark - you know - something you’re the best at.
I may do something cool with particles.

hey i got a question…what would be like our first group project? I think making a site would be good for a first thing or maybe even have a mascot or symbol for the ncg? just wondering…
yeah, a mascot is good idea. first we gotta know, whos in the group.
ahh ok…hmm…we could nickname the mascot newbie or noob…i don’t know just trying to think of ideas…
Compared to the greats like @ndy, Landis, Robertt, LohnC, and all the rest, I’m still very much a newb, so I think that I would benefit from joining a group like this (as long as it doesn’t progress too slowly). I think it would be cool to do group projects and stuff, similar to that Muffin animation that’s being worked on now, so you can more or less count me in.

We need to meet somewhere, maybe create an irc channel and talk about everything - from the mascot name to what we really gonna do.
yeah i agree…also i do have some experience in cad work but i don’t think that’s much help in doing a 3d game…it’s more for just technical objects like a bolt or such…can’t wait to hear about what we’re going to do…

hey, I’ll join you guys… I’m in high school now, with a full schedule, but I do have some free time on my hands… has anything started yet that I missed?
I’m good with 3D viewing… (I studied mechanical systems for 2 years, and tech drawings are pretty mush like what we have in blender I also know a bit about materials and textures, but would like to learn alot more… Sorry if I can’t send an email for now, but the school’s firewall is blocking any smtp out because of that damned MyDoom virus!
